Taxi 60min 21,000 yen

60 minutes from NGO to Toyota City when the bus is off

If you land at Chubu Centrair (T1 or T2) after the airport-limousine buses stop or with a tight meeting window in Toyota City, a direct taxi is the blunt instrument that works. Door to door from the terminal curb to most Toyota plants runs about 60 minutes in normal traffic, covering roughly 70–80 km without a transfer or train change.

Metered fare from Centrair to Toyota City usually comes out around 21,000 yen for a standard sedan, before any late-night surcharge or highway tolls your driver might add. Pay in cash or card; most airport taxis at Centrair now take major credit cards, but it’s still smart to have at least 25,000 yen on hand as a fallback. That 21,000 yen is per car, not per person, so two or three colleagues splitting it softens the hit.

You pick up taxis at the official ranks outside T1 and T2 arrivals, beside the limousine bus stops and about a 2–3 minute walk from baggage claim in each terminal. There is no fixed “Toyota City” flat rate posted at the stand, so tell the dispatcher or driver your exact destination name and address, for example “Toyota Kaikan Museum” or a plant gate number, before you load bags into the trunk.

Figure 60 minutes curb to curb in light traffic, but build in 75–90 minutes if you land during the 07:00–09:00 or 17:00–19:00 peaks around Nagoya and Toyota. If you have a 09:00 training at a Toyota technical center, you probably want your wheels moving out of Centrair by 07:30 at the latest, especially in rain when the expressways slow down.

The weak point is cost, not reliability: 21,000 yen compares badly with a sub-3,000 yen Meitetsu train ticket plus a local ride, but that train combo can easily hit 100–120 minutes door to door with one or two transfers. If your company covers ground transport on a single expense line, the taxi usually wins for late arrivals or post-21:00 landings when buses thin out.

One practical tip: print the Japanese address of your Toyota destination, including postal code and building name, and keep it on paper or a screenshot. Hand it to the driver at the T1 or T2 taxi rank so the route goes into the navigation system in 30 seconds instead of a five‑minute language dance on the curb.
