Airport Bus to Sakae/Fushimi

Bus

Bus 55m ¥2,000

55 minutes from NGO to Sakae/Fushimi without touching Nagoya Station

The Airport Bus to Sakae/Fushimi runs from Chubu Centrair International Airport, mainly serving T1 arrivals who want a direct drop-off near Nagoya’s business hotels. The ride takes about 55 minutes in normal traffic and drops you in the Sakae and Fushimi area instead of forcing a transfer at JR Nagoya Station with luggage. Tickets cost ¥2,000 one-way, so it usually undercuts a taxi by several thousand yen for solo travelers.

You buy tickets at the airport bus counter or a ticket machine in the arrivals area of T1, then board outside at the signed limousine bus stop. The fare is a flat ¥2,000 from the airport to central Nagoya, and you pay in yen; some machines accept IC cards, but keep cash as backup. Hold on to the ticket stub until you reach Sakae or Fushimi, as staff may check it on or off the bus. The stop board shows the “Sakae/Fushimi” line separately from buses heading toward JR Nagoya Station.

Seats are standard highway-coach style with overhead racks and a small storage bay under the bus for larger suitcases. The 55-minute schedule assumes normal traffic on the expressway between Centrair and central Nagoya; in rain or rush hour, add 10–15 minutes. There’s no onboard toilet on some runs, so hit the restroom in T1 before heading to the stop. At ¥2,000, the bus lands between the cheaper Meitetsu train and a more expensive taxi, but wins on direct door-ish access to the Sakae office district.

Step-by-step from T1 arrivals: 1) Exit customs and walk toward the bus and train signs on Level 2. 2) Stop at the airport bus counter or machine, buy a “Sakae/Fushimi” ticket for ¥2,000. 3) Follow signs to the designated limousine bus bays outside T1 and find the stand for Sakae/Fushimi. 4) Line up, hand your large suitcase to the driver for the underfloor compartment, then board and grab a seat. 5) Ride about 55 minutes, then get off at the stop closest to your Sakae or Fushimi hotel and double-check the hotel’s walking map before you step away from the stop.

One practical tip: if your hotel sits closer to Fushimi Station than Sakae Station on the Higashiyama Line, tell the driver “Fushimi” when boarding so you don’t miss the earlier stop and have to backtrack a full station on the subway.
