Missed the last Meitetsu train home to Ichinomiya?

If your flight lands at Chubu Centrair after 22:30 and you still need to reach Ichinomiya with checked bags in tow, a direct taxi run usually takes about 65 minutes from T1 or T2. This run is basically the fallback option once the last practical rail or bus connection to Ichinomiya has gone. Expect the meter to sit around 22,000 yen for the full airport-to-Ichinomiya trip, assuming normal late-night traffic on the expressway.

Taxis line up 24 hours a day outside both T1 and T2 arrivals at NGO, so you can walk out with luggage in under 10 minutes after customs. For Ichinomiya, tell the dispatcher “Ichinomiya-shi” plus your exact address or nearest Meitetsu station, and they’ll assign a car that’s comfortable for at least two full-size checked bags. Night surcharge usually kicks in after 22:00, so the 22,000 yen estimate already assumes the late-night rate.

The run to Ichinomiya usually uses the Chita Peninsula road network and the expressway toward Nagoya, covering roughly 70 km in about 65 minutes if traffic is light. Drivers are used to airport–Nagoya city center transfers, so be clear that you want Ichinomiya, not Nagoya Station, which can otherwise add 15–20 minutes of confusion and a few thousand yen. Most drivers accept cash in yen and major cards; have at least 25,000 yen available in case of jams or detours.

If you land around 23:30 and clear baggage claim by roughly 23:50, a taxi to Ichinomiya gets you home close to 01:00, versus waiting in the terminal until the first trains after 05:30. Solo, 22,000 yen stings; split between three people with luggage, you’re closer to 7,500 yen per person, which is competitive with a late-night business hotel plus morning rail fare. Taxis in Aichi generally do not expect large tips, so paying the meter amount is normal.

Practical tip: Screenshot your Ichinomiya address in Japanese before flying and show it to the dispatcher at the T1 or T2 taxi rank; this cuts a few minutes of back-and-forth and keeps the ride closer to that 65-minute, 22,000 yen baseline.
