Those 06:40 NGO departures get easier if you sleep in Tokoname

Airport hotels around Chubu Centrair in Tokoname run free shuttle buses so you can crash nearby and keep the airport hop to a few minutes. These shuttles typically run between Tokoname station–side hotels like the Comfort Hotel and the airport access road at T1/T2, cutting out the 35–45 minute train ride back into Nagoya city the night before or after your flight.

Most Tokoname hotel shuttles operate in fixed time slots aligned with check‑in and first morning departures, with several runs between roughly 17:00 and 23:00, and again from around 5:00 for early flights from T1. You reserve a seat at hotel check‑in or by email in advance, and the front desk tells you the exact departure minute, which matters if you are catching a 07:00 ANA or JAL flight.

Pickup points are usually right outside each hotel lobby on the Tokoname side and at the designated hotel shuttle lane on the airport arrival level at NGO, one floor below the T1 arrival hall. Drivers hold hotel name boards in the bus windshield, so you match your bus to brands like Comfort, Four Points, or Toyoko Inn rather than guessing from colors.

Ride time between most Tokoname hotels and Centrair runs about 10–15 minutes depending on traffic over the bridge to the artificial island where T1 and T2 sit. Compared with the Meitetsu μ-SKY limited express from Nagoya Station, which takes about 28 minutes and another 5–10 minutes of walking from the train platforms to check‑in, the shuttle plus short hotel walk saves both steps and an extra transit leg.

Some Tokoname hotels limit shuttle use to registered overnight guests and require you to book your slot by 22:00 the night before a morning run. A few properties only offer airport → hotel service for late arrivals after 21:00, so if your flight lands before that, you might pay the roughly ¥1,000 Meitetsu fare from NGO to Tokoname and ride the shuttle back to the airport on departure day instead.

If your flight lands after the last Meitetsu train, usually around 23:40, confirm that your chosen Tokoname hotel still sends a final shuttle that lines up with your actual arrival time. When in doubt, take a screenshot of the hotel’s shuttle timetable before you fly and set a phone alarm 10 minutes before your chosen departure slot so you are in the lobby on time.
