Gate-side tech stop in T1 for last‑minute gear

Two minutes from most security lanes in Terminal T1, InMotion is the airport’s main electronics shop. It sits airside in the departures concourse, so you can duck in after security and still keep an eye on the screens. Think travel tech only: headphones, chargers, cables, power banks, adaptors, and a few small speakers and cameras.

Prices run higher than Amazon or Argos in central Newcastle; expect to pay roughly £25–£35 for basic USB‑C chargers and £60–£120 for noise‑cancelling headphones. The trade-off is that everything is boxed, legit, and ready to go, which beats gambling on a £9 cable from a vending machine that might not fast-charge your phone.

Staff usually know the difference between Lightning, USB‑C, and older micro‑USB, and they carry branded gear from names like JBL, Sony, and Apple alongside generic adapters. If you forgot a UK plug, they stock EU–UK and US–UK adaptors in the £10–£20 range, plus multi‑country bricks that cover EU, US, AU and UK pins in one unit.

There’s no repair service, but you can get basic help pairing Bluetooth headphones or checking if a cable matches your laptop. Returns are airport-style: easier the same day, with receipt, before you leave T1. Card and contactless only is common during quieter periods.

Tip: if your boarding pass shows a gate at the far 20s, stop at InMotion right after security; walking back from the end of T1 can eat 10–15 minutes.
