Fiji domestic flights from Nadi do not have a real lounge

The so-called Domestic Lounge at Nadi Airport causes confusion because it’s listed, but frequent flyers and Point Hacks reviews are clear: there is effectively no dedicated departure lounge on the Domestic side for Fiji flights. Most long-haul passengers connect inside the International terminal first, then move across to Domestic where it’s straight gate seating.

The published details say the Domestic Lounge runs 06:00 to 20:00 in the Domestic terminal with access for all passengers and a $30 day pass. In practice, reviewers and Fiji regulars report they are directed to use only the Fiji Airways Premier Lounge in International and then move to Domestic closer to boarding, because there is nothing comparable after you clear to the domestic side.

Point Hacks spells it out in a Q&A: the space they review is an international departures lounge, and there are no lounges for domestic passengers. That’s why people connecting from Australia or New Zealand on Fiji Airways into a domestic flight to places like Suva or Taveuni often get caught assuming they’ll have lounge access right up to the domestic boarding call.

What regulars do

FlyerTalk threads and Australian points blogs all land on the same tactic: spend as much time as possible in the Fiji Airways Premier Lounge on the International side, then walk over to the Domestic terminal closer to your departure time. If your domestic flight boards at, say, 14:30, regulars often stay in the international lounge until roughly 13:45–14:00 before heading to the domestic gate.

Watch out for

Multiple reviews mention travellers being caught out by expecting to buy a $30 walk-up pass to some separate Domestic Lounge that never materialises. If your boarding pass says a domestic destination like Labasa (LBS), assume gate seating only, basic food options in the public concourse, and no showers or business facilities once you’ve crossed to Domestic security.

Tip: If you have lounge entitlements, eat, shower and charge devices in the international Premier Lounge first, then move to the Domestic terminal about 30–40 minutes before boarding so you’re not sitting at a bare gate for an extra hour.
