36 minutes from MXP to Porta Garibaldi, right under Porta Nuova
Trenord’s Malpensa Express to Milano Porta Garibaldi drops you under the Porta Nuova/Isola office cluster in about 36–41 minutes, with no Milano Centrale detour. Trains run from both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, so you stay airside with people-mover or shuttle only if you land at the other terminal.
From Terminal 1, follow the "Trains" signs down to the MXP station under the terminal; from Terminal 2, the station sits right in front of the terminal building. The Porta Garibaldi branch usually runs every 30 minutes in daytime; check the board so you don’t end up on the Cadorna or Centrale variant by mistake.
A one-way ticket to Milano Porta Garibaldi costs around €13 in standard class. Tickets come from the Trenord/Malpensa Express machines in T1 and T2, the staffed counters near the station access, or online apps. Remember to validate paper tickets in the green machines on the platform before boarding, or you risk a fine during inspection.
The train stops at Milano Bovisa before reaching Porta Garibaldi, then terminates on the lower-level tracks. From there you’re a 5–10 minute walk to most Porta Nuova towers via the underground passages and escalators, or one short metro hop on Lines M2 or M5 if you’re heading out toward Isola or Central Station.
Trains generally run from around 05:30 until after 23:00, but late-night gaps exist, especially after delayed long-haul arrivals. If your flight lands after 22:30, check the specific train you’re aiming for rather than assuming a full 30-minute pattern all evening.
For bags, you just roll straight on; there’s no separate luggage car, only racks by the doors and overhead shelves. If you’re carrying a big checked case over 20 kg, aim for the doors in the middle of the car where the larger floor racks usually sit.
One tip: if your meeting is near Piazza Gae Aulenti or Corso Como, skip Centrale entirely and ride this train to Porta Garibaldi, then exit toward Piazza Freud to stay underground until the last escalator up to the offices.
