Five-minute walk from MXP T1 check-in
Short Stay Parking Terminal 1 sits right next to Milan Malpensa T1, about a 5-minute walk from the check-in desks. This is the airport’s on-foot, short-stay option, so you skip shuttles and lifts and just roll your bags straight into the terminal. It suits drop-offs, quick business trips, or picking someone up when you want to park close but don’t need multi-day pricing.
This car park is officially signed as “Short Stay Parking Terminal 1” on MXP approach roads to T1, so watch the terminal signs and stay in the T1 lane. Being directly beside the terminal, it’s more expensive per hour than the long-stay lots that sit farther out, but you trade price for proximity. Figure this is for a few hours to maybe a day, not a week-long holiday.
Access is straightforward: you enter from the main T1 forecourt side and then walk about 300–400 meters into departures. There’s no need to ride the T1–T2 shuttle bus here, as this lot only really makes sense if you’re flying out of T1 rather than T2. If someone lands in T2, plan to drive over instead of walking, since the inter-terminal distance is several kilometers.
Short-stay pricing at T1 usually works by the hour, with steeper rates after the first 60–90 minutes compared to the daily caps at the long-term car parks. That structure favors quick terminal runs: drop-off, coffee in T1, back to the car. If your parking time looks like more than one full day, run a price check against the remote long-stay areas before you lock this in.
Practical tip: add 10–15 minutes to your schedule at MXP for finding a space, paying, and walking the 5 minutes into T1, especially in the morning peak.
