South-side “Parking Sur” doesn’t show up on any MVD maps.

Airport diagrams and spotter guides for Carrasco (MVD) only mark the main public parking in front of Terminal T1, with no clearly signed “Parking Sur” short-stay facility. If you see “sur” mentioned online, it usually refers to runway or approach orientation, not a separate car park you can actually choose at the pay machine.

The official short-stay option at MVD sits directly opposite T1’s main departures doors, roughly a 2–4 minute walk from check-in counters for airlines like LATAM and Aerolíneas Argentinas. That’s the lot locals use for quick drop-offs, short business meetings, or pickups where you need to leave the car and walk inside rather than wait at the curb.

Published pricing at MVD often groups all surface spaces into one daily rate rather than breaking out a “Parking Sur” category, and current airport materials list only general parking with hourly and daily caps in Uruguayan pesos. If a south-sector zone exists within that area, it functions more like a subsection of the same pay-on-exit system than its own product with a different ticket or tariff.

Because no traveler reports mention a separate entrance signed “Parking Sur,” expect standard entry via the main access road off Ruta Interbalnearia (Route IB) and the regular barrier system. Ticket machines and pay stations sit close to the terminal-side pedestrian paths, and walking times stay under 5 minutes even from the furthest marked rows.

Until the airport publishes a formal map labeling any south-side bay as “Parking Sur,” treat all front-of-terminal spaces as one short-stay area and keep a phone photo of your row number so you can find the car quickly after a late-night arrival.
