At MVD’s T1, Long Stay Parking sits directly next to the passenger terminal, so you just walk across the access area instead of waiting for any shuttle. This is the official long-term option on airport grounds and works for trips of several days or more when a friend with a car isn’t an option.

Signage on-site labels this area as Long Stay Parking, separate from short-stay spaces in front of the T1 departures hall. You park at ground level, open-air, with standard marked bays sized for regular cars rather than oversized vehicles. Because the lot is right beside the terminal, the walk to check-in counters for airlines like LATAM and Aerolíneas Argentinas is only a few minutes.

Pricing is posted in Uruguayan pesos at the entry gate and pay machines, with charges calculated per calendar day rather than per hour once you cross into long-stay. You pay at automated kiosks or a staffed booth before exiting, then insert your validated ticket at the barrier. Keep your ticket dry; replacing a lost card at MVD can involve a manual lookup and extra fee.

MVD is small, and the Long Stay Parking area is compact, so on busy days like 23 December or around Carnival, spaces closest to T1’s main doors fill first. If you arrive late at night for a 02:00 departure, expect darker corners of the lot and aim for rows nearer the lit terminal façade. There is regular airport security presence around the T1 curb and entrances, but you still want to avoid leaving bags or electronics visible on seats.

One practical tip: before your trip, compare the per-day Long Stay Parking cost against a round-trip taxi or rideshare from neighborhoods like Pocitos or Ciudad Vieja; at around 20–30 minutes driving time each way, longer trips of a week or more may pencil out cheaper by leaving the car at home.
