Edeka

Gate-area grocery stop instead of another sandwich stand

Edeka at Munich Airport sits landside in Terminal 2, so you can stock up before security for any Schengen or non-Schengen flight out of T2. It’s a normal German supermarket, not an airport-style snack kiosk, which means proper grocery shelves, fridges and basics for home or hotel, all at standard Edeka price levels instead of inflated gate pricing.

Hours typically track regular airport daytime traffic in Terminal 2, with morning opening that matches early departures and closing aligned with the evening wave; check the current MUC listing if you’re landing after 21:00. You pay normal supermarket rates on bottled water, soft drinks and sandwiches, which usually undercut most cafés in T2 by several euros for the same items.

Stock leans toward everyday groceries: fresh bread rolls, packaged sandwiches, fruit, yogurt pots, chocolate, crisps and 0.5L water bottles, plus some basic toiletries that can save a trip into Munich city. Since it’s landside, you can also grab heavier items like multi-pack drinks for a longer stay, then repack before dropping your bag at Terminal 2 check-in counters.

If you’re connecting from Terminal 1 to a Terminal 2 flight and have at least 60–90 minutes, you can come landside, hit Edeka, then head to T2 security. Just remember liquids over 100 ml need to go in checked luggage, so buy big bottles only after baggage drop. Tip: pick up snacks and water here, then skip the pricier fridges near the T2 gate areas.
