Emirates Lounge

1

Direct boarding to Emirates flights is the key perk here

This Emirates Lounge sits in Terminal 1 at Munich Airport and mainly serves passengers on the daily Emirates departures to Dubai. It feels like a textbook Emirates outstation setup: business and first class guests plus eligible Skywards elites, with the familiar cream-and-wood finish you see in many other Emirates lounges worldwide.

Opening times track the EK schedule, so expect it to be open roughly three hours before each Emirates flight from T1. If you’re on the later Munich–Dubai service, this matters: the lounge usually closes shortly after the last flight boards, so don’t bank on camping here for an early-morning non-Emirates departure.

The lounge sits airside in Terminal 1, after security and passport control, close to the Emirates gates used for the Dubai flights. Give yourself at least 20–30 minutes from check-in to reach the door, since queues at T1 security and outbound immigration can still bite during lunchtime and late evening banks.

Food here follows the classic Emirates pattern: a buffet with salads and desserts, plus rotating hot dishes like chicken curry, rice, and pasta served à la carte by staff. Coffee machines pour espresso-based drinks, fridges hold soft drinks and juices, and there’s a self-serve bar with spirits and usually at least one decent Champagne or sparkling wine option.

Seating spreads along the windows with views of the T1 apron and the parked Emirates widebody; plugs sit between many armchairs, so charging a laptop before the 5–6 hour hop to Dubai is straightforward. Wi‑Fi hooks into the airport network and typically runs fast enough to stream video or sync big email folders while you wait for boarding to start.

Boarding often runs directly from the lounge to the aircraft via a dedicated door when the assigned gate layout allows it, which can shave 10–15 minutes off standing in line at the podium. Listen for dual announcements: the lounge staff call separate boarding for first and business, in sync with the gate system.

Practical tip: if you want a proper hot meal, arrive at least 60–75 minutes before scheduled departure to beat the 30–40 minute pre-boarding rush, when the kitchen and buffet line get noticeably busier.
