Airport Lounge Europe

1

Schengen-side in Terminal 1, Airport Lounge Europe is the quick Priority Pass stop regulars use before short hops.

This lounge sits airside in Terminal 1 on the Schengen side, so it actually works for most T1 flights that don’t leave the EU. Priority Pass gets you in, and that alone makes it a go-to for cardholders who don’t want to walk to Airport Lounge World further along the terminal. Think smaller footprint, basic seating, and a place to sit with Wi‑Fi rather than a “destination” lounge.

Hours vary a bit with the Terminal 1 schedule, but it generally tracks daytime operations, so assume morning through late evening rather than true 24/7. Check the Priority Pass app on the day; it usually lists specific opening times in local time for MUC. If you land after 22:00 in T1, don’t bank on it still being open for a long layover.

Food is simple self‑serve: cold cuts, some packaged snacks, bread, and usually a soup or two, more “grab a quick plate in five minutes” than full meal. Drinks run to standard beer, wine, and basic spirits, with soft drinks and a coffee machine that regulars hit for a double shot before short-haul departures. Pricing is all-in with your Priority Pass visit; walk‑up paid entry is rare and not worth it at the usual €35–€40 range if it’s offered.

Layout is one main room with mixed tables and armchairs, plus a small business corner with a few power outlets. It fills in waves around morning bank flights from 06:00–09:00 and again in the late afternoon, so snagging a seat near a wall outlet can matter if you need to charge a laptop before a 2–3 hour intra‑EU run. Wi‑Fi uses the airport network, and speed is typically fine for email and a quick video call.

What regulars do: Priority Pass holders on Lufthansa sometimes clear security into Terminal 1 first, use Airport Lounge Europe or the nearby Air France lounge for 60–90 minutes of quiet, then head back to Terminal 2 via the shuttle or by re‑clearing security. This only works if security staff allow the T1–T2 shuffle that day, so have a backup plan in T2 if you get turned around.

Tip: If your Schengen flight leaves from a remote stand in Terminal 1, be at the gate 30 minutes before boarding time and leave the lounge at least 15–20 minutes earlier to account for bus‑gate crowding and passport or ID checks.
