Gate-side caffeine fix in Terminal 1

This Starbucks in Terminal 1 at MSP runs with the usual airport pace, but the 4.3 rating hints it’s better run than many. Lines show up early, especially before 9:00 a.m., but they usually move fast thanks to multiple baristas on bar and a separate handoff counter. It’s post-security, so you’re safe ordering even on a 45-minute connection if the queue doesn’t reach past the main hallway.

Menu is the standard Starbucks playbook: hot and iced espresso drinks, drip coffee, tea, refreshers, plus pre-packed sandwiches and pastries. Expect airport pricing: a grande latte lands around $6, breakfast sandwiches around $6–$7, and bottled drinks creeping past $4. If you want something straightforward, stick to brewed Pike Place or a cold brew, which tend to be faster to pour than custom frappuccinos during a rush.

Food is mostly grab-and-go from the case, so it works if your boarding group is already on “second and final.” The classic bacon, gouda & egg sandwich and turkey bacon & egg white are the most reliable options, and they reheat them behind the counter in under 3–4 minutes. Pastries travel better: the banana bread slice or cake pops survive a sprint to gate G10 or F13 without falling apart.

There aren’t many seats directly at this Starbucks, just a few stools and small tables, so plan to carry your drink back toward your actual gate area in Terminal 1. Power outlets and USB ports are easier to find at the nearby hold rooms than right at the cafe. Mobile order in the Starbucks app can shorten your wait, but only if you’re already through security and within a 5–10 minute walk so your iced drink doesn’t sit.

Tip: On tight connections under 30 minutes in Terminal 1, order plain drip coffee or cold brew and skip any drink that needs a blender.
