Gate 3 is a two-minute walk from MSO Taphouse’s taps.

MSO Taphouse sits airside in the Main terminal, just past security and near the smaller cluster of gates used by Alaska and Delta. It runs on typical MSO flight banks, usually opening early enough for the first departures and staying open into the evening rush; if you have a 6:00 a.m. flight, double-check on the day because bar service in Montana follows state liquor rules. This is the only true brewpub-style option post-security, so seats go fast on peak afternoon departures around 2:00–4:00 p.m.

Figure on about $14–$18 for a burger or sandwich and another $7–$9 for a pint of regional beer. The menu leans pub: burgers, chicken sandwiches, salads, and shareable bar snacks that work for a quick bite before boarding. Portion sizes track with US airport standards, so one main usually handles a full meal before a 2–3 hour hop to Seattle or Denver. Credit cards dominate; carry a backup option because MSO has had occasional terminal-wide POS hiccups during storms.

The tap list usually features several Montana and Pacific Northwest craft beers along with one or two macro lagers, so you can drink local before your flight to ORD or SLC. If you want to sample more than one style, ask for a short pour; some bartenders will do a mini flight even if it is not printed on the menu. Wine and basic mixed drinks sit in the standard airport bar range, with pours typically around $10–$14.

Seating is bar stools plus a handful of two-tops, with power outlets along parts of the bar rail. It gets tight when two mainline flights board inside the same 45-minute window. If you need real food before a United or Delta afternoon departure, order as soon as you sit; kitchen tickets can stretch to 20 minutes when three or four tables hit at once. One practical move: top off your water bottle here since some of MSO’s individual gate areas still lack dedicated refill stations.
