$14/day gets you covered long-term parking in the Ramp

The Ramp at Dane County Regional (MSN) sits directly attached to the Main terminal, so you walk from car to check-in in a couple of minutes with no shuttle. Daily rate runs $14, and this is the long-stay option most Madison-based frequent flyers use when they want to avoid snow, ice, or summer storms on their car.

This is the only covered long-stay parking right by the Main terminal, which explains why locals default to it instead of the farther surface lots. One FlyerTalk regular put it simply: they “just use the attached garage because it’s so close to the terminal” and have “never had an issue parking at MSN.” If you value time over a few extra dollars per day, this is the one that usually wins.

Compared to the economy options, the Ramp costs more per day but saves you the shuttle wait on early-morning departures and late-night arrivals. Figure the $14/day rate as your baseline and mentally add that to your trip cost if you’re gone for 3–5 days. For week-long trips, the total bill can climb, but the tradeoff is walking straight into the Main terminal check-in area instead of budgeting extra transit time.

Practical tip: For Monday morning flights out of the Main terminal, aim to pull into the Ramp at least 60 minutes before boarding so you’ve got time to find a level you like, park near an elevator, and still get through security without rushing.
