Sky Bar

Bar · International

T1 Open · 10:00 - 23:00 ★ 4.2 $$$$ Post-security

Gate-side drinks in T1 start at Sky Bar from 10:00

In Terminal T1 after security, Sky Bar runs daily from 10:00 to 23:00, so it catches both late-morning departures and most evening long-hauls out of MRU. It sits in the main departures area of T1, an easy stop once you clear security and passport control and still want eyes on the gate screens.

This is a $$$ bar with an international menu, so expect airport pricing: cocktails sit in the higher bracket, and even a basic beer comes in above city rates. The draw is the full bar setup right in T1, which means you can stick close to your gate instead of backtracking to landside cafés.

The headliner here is the Signature Mojito, called out on the menu as the house special. If you care about what lands in your glass, start there before moving to the usual gin & tonic or whisky pours. The food side tracks the international bar format with standard snacks rather than full mains, so plan on a drink stop more than a full meal stop.

Service lines stay manageable compared with the bigger cafés in T1, especially outside the 18:00–21:00 departure bank when Europe flights bunch up. With a rating around 4.2, Sky Bar scores slightly higher than the average airport bar at MRU, mainly on drink quality rather than speed when the terminal fills.

There are no standout horror stories tied to Sky Bar at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam, but seats around the counter disappear fast during the late-evening wave toward the 22:00–23:00 departures. If you see a spare stool within sight of your gate number, take it before opening the menu.

Tip: check your gate on the T1 board, then set a timer for 25–30 minutes before boarding time and close your tab at Sky Bar on that alarm, not when you first hear the call.
