Duty Free Aelia

T1

Just past security in T1, Duty Free Aelia hits fast.

You find Duty Free Aelia airside in Terminal T1, right after security, so it’s basically unavoidable on the walk to the gates. Shelves lean heavily French: Provençal soaps, local olive oils, and region-specific wines sit next to the usual airport liquor and big-brand cosmetics. Prices on spirits and perfume track standard EU duty-free levels, so you’re not getting a unicorn deal, but it’s reasonable for last‑minute gifts.

The shop keeps to typical T1 hours, opening early for morning departures and staying open through the evening wave of flights, so you can usually duck in even on a 07:00 or 21:00 departure. Cigarettes and spirits come in the standard multi-pack formats, handy if you’re connecting onwards outside the EU customs zone. Expect the front of the store to hold seasonal promo islands, with high-margin chocolate and snacks pushed hard.

For food gifts, you’ll see tins of navettes, calissons, and other Marseille/Provence sweets, usually priced a few euros above what you’d pay downtown but still fine when time is tight. Travel-size skincare and French pharmacy brands sit near the cosmetics wall, with frequent 2-for deals clearly tagged in euros. If you need a quick souvenir under €15, the magnet/postcard keychain corner near the entrance does the job.

One practical tip: if you’re eyeing wine or pastis, check your airline’s cabin baggage limits first, then buy on the way to the gate rather than at the start of your T1 walk, so you’re not carrying glass bottles through the whole concourse.
