EUR23 at Gate 23 buys you time more than comfort
This Priority Pass Lounge in Terminal 1 sits near Gate 23 and runs 05:00-22:00, so it covers the early BA and LH departures plus most evening flights. Access works with Priority Pass or a day pass at about EUR23, which lines up neatly with the Mastercard credit many cards give here. Think of it as paying for a quiet-ish corner and a plug, not a big meal.
The space itself is small for a T1 lounge, and regulars on FlyerTalk call out crowding during morning and late-afternoon banks. Seating is basic armchairs and tables, but LoungeReview notes plenty of power points, so you can charge a laptop and phone before boarding. If your flight goes from a remote stand, factor in a 10-minute buffer from lounge door to bus gate.
Food is light: reviews mention cold cuts, bread, fruit, packaged snacks, and a hot soup urn that runs through the day. Don’t walk in expecting a full breakfast; think toast, cheese, maybe some cereal at 07:00 rather than eggs and bacon. If you’re hungry-hungry, a grab-and-go sandwich from Brioche Dorée in T1 often beats trying to assemble a meal off the lounge buffet.
Drinks lean towards basics: coffee machine, tea, soft drinks, and standard beer and wine, all self-serve. If your Mastercard gives a EUR23 credit here, treat it as a visit voucher, not a bar tab with premium cocktails. You won’t find champagne or craft gin, but you can get a glass of house wine and a coffee without paying extra beyond your entry.
There’s a quirk for BA passengers: FlyerTalk posters say that when the lounge is unmanned, BA hands out swipe-card passes from the BA sales counter in T1, so status customers still get in. Some frequent flyers with Priority Pass simply skip the lounge on sub-60-minute connections and spend EUR8-10 on a pastry and coffee landside instead.
Practical tip: If your layover is under 45 minutes gate-to-gate in T1, grab a quick snack in the terminal and head straight to Gate 23; save your Priority Pass visit for a longer stop at another airport.
