GA only: MHT tie-downs are for aircraft, not cars

Tie-downs at Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT) are part of the general aviation side of the field, separate from the Main Terminal car parks and passenger lots. These spots are for parking light aircraft on the ramp, not for anyone driving to catch an Allegiant, American, Delta, Southwest, or United flight from the Main Terminal. If you’re just flying out as a commercial passenger, use the airport’s Hourly, Daily, or Garage parking instead.

On the airfield, tie-downs sit on dedicated ramp space alongside other general aviation facilities that support based and transient aircraft. You access these from the GA side of MHT, not via the public parking entrances on Airport Road that serve the terminal. Think of them as another parking product on the airport’s map, but tied directly to airplane operations, not to the 3,000+ public car spaces advertised on the official site.

Because MHT treats tie-downs as part of its aviation infrastructure, you won’t see them listed with daily car rates like the $14–$24 ranges published for regular passenger parking. Rates, availability, and any overnight policies typically go through the FBO or airport operations, not through the same payment machines that handle short-term or long-term car parking near the Main Terminal. Plan on a separate call or briefing, not a tap of a credit card at a gate.

Data point: traveler parking info pages and consumer reviews mention only garage, surface, and overflow lots by name, and never mention tie-downs as an option for people driving to the Main Terminal. That’s your clue these are a pilot-only tool. Tip: if you’re PIC in a GA aircraft, sort ramp access, fees, and tie-down arrangements directly with the FBO or airport ops before you depart; if you’re a passenger with luggage, follow signs to the regular terminal parking instead.
