VIP Lounge

Main · /contiguous with the international departure and boarding lounges Day pass $35

$35 here buys you private check-in and a side of lounge

The VIP Lounge in MGA’s Main terminal sits on the second floor, directly next to the international departure and boarding lounges, but the real play is the bundled fast-track service. For around US$30–35 per person (plus IVA on the $30 “normal rate”), you get handled from check-in through immigration and security, then parked in a small lounge before boarding.

Access is fully pay-in: business travelers, tourists, even celebrities all use the same door as long as they pay the fee. FlyerTalk reports American Airlines passengers pay US$35, while the official EAAI info lists US$30 plus tax, and both mention that all departing passengers are welcome regardless of airline or cabin.

Your fee includes three drinks and one plate of hors d’oeuvres per passenger, which regulars say is fine for a short stay but not a long layover. Expect basic snacks and a bar rather than a full meal service, plus free wired or wireless internet for getting work done while you wait to board.

The real value is the VIP processing: staff handle your documents and baggage check with the airline, then walk you through private immigration, customs, and a separate security entrance. FlyerTalk users call this the main reason to pay the lounge fee, especially at busy times, more than the actual seating or food inside.

One FlyerTalk post notes you need to call at least a day before departure to reserve, using the Nicaragua phone number and IVR extension listed by EAAI, or the service may not be available on arrival. Regulars suggest showing up at the VIP entrance around two hours before your flight to make sure there’s enough time to run the private check-in, immigration, and security steps.

Signage in the Main terminal is reportedly easy to miss, and years-later comments from frequent flyers saying “I don’t think any airline has lounges here” show how low-profile the setup is. If you walk straight to the standard international departure lounges without looking up at the second-floor area, you can easily pass it by.

Practical tip: If the fast-track piece matters to you, call and book the VIP service the day before, budget the US$35, and plan to spend your saved terminal time at the gate rather than stretching those three drinks inside the lounge.
