Sala VIP Internacional

Day pass 35

One Flightradar24 reviewer swears they saw zero lounges at MGA

Augusto C. Sandino International Airport (MGA) only has about 7 gates in the Main terminal, and at least one recent traveler said they didn’t think any airline lounges existed here. Against that, airport and access databases list a Sala VIP Internacional with pay-in and airline-invited access, which makes this lounge more of a mystery than a headline feature of the terminal.

Access lists show Sala VIP Internacional as a mixed-use lounge: airlines send premium and invited passengers, and walk-ups can supposedly buy a day pass for about $35. That price sits in the same band as many Priority Pass–style lounges in Central America, but the lack of independent photos or reviews means you’re paying mostly on faith rather than verified amenities.

All flights at MGA run from the single Main terminal, and security generally feeds into one compact departures area that serves those 7 gates. If Sala VIP Internacional is operating, it would almost certainly sit airside in this departures zone rather than landside, simply because there is no separate concourse or satellite pier at this airport.

Here’s the catch: one Flightradar24 review specifically calls out that they “don’t think any airline has lounges here,” and there are no TripAdvisor, FlyerTalk, or Reddit photo reports that clearly show signage for Sala VIP Internacional at MGA. That suggests the lounge, if open, may have low visibility, limited hours, or be reserved heavily for specific airline contracts rather than casual walk-up traffic.

With a $35 walk-up rate and no reliable food or drink reports, you can’t pre-plan what to order or avoid the way you might at a known chain lounge in San José (SJO) or Panama City (PTY). You’re also unlikely to need a shower here, since most traffic through MGA is short- to mid-haul Central American or US service, not ultra-long-haul, and none of the usual review sources mention shower facilities by name.

If you’re curious and have time, walk the full departures area in the Main terminal after security and actively look for “Sala VIP Internacional” or generic “VIP” signs; if you can’t spot clear signage within 5–10 minutes, save the $35 and stick to the regular gate seating and cafes instead.
