Zero on-site EV chargers at McAllen Miller International

As of 2026, McAllen Miller International Airport (MFE) lists no EV charging stations in any of its on-airport parking areas. That includes the Main Terminal parking lot directly in front of the terminal. If you arrive with a low state of charge, you’re parking only, not charging.

The airport’s official parking info page and the City of McAllen site both mention daily and hourly parking by the Main Terminal but make no reference to Level 2, DC fast, or pay-per-kWh EV options. Treat the airport like a standard surface lot: you pay for the space, and your battery status is your problem.

Plan range assuming at least one extra day of parking in case of delays or rebooking. For example, if you expect to park three days, arrive with enough charge to comfortably cover four days of vampire drain plus your drive home. At MFE, there’s no backup outlet or trickle charge listed in any official materials.

Right now, the airport only promotes traditional parking near the Main Terminal, with no separate EV section, no premium EV rows, and no reserved charging bays. If you see a random wall outlet or light-post plug, don’t count on it being live, legal to use, or safe for long-term charging.

Practical tip: top off at a known charger in McAllen or along US-83 or US-281 before you head to the airport, and log that location in your app as your first stop after landing in case your return drive ends up tighter than planned.
