Accessible Parking

Accessible Parking uses the same lots and rates as regular parking at MFE.

At McAllen Miller International Airport, accessible parking sits inside the same Main Terminal parking facilities as standard spaces, with no separate posted pricing or special lot. The airport’s public rates currently start at short-term pricing in the main garage and surface lots right in front of the terminal, so plan around distance more than cost when picking a spot.

Marked accessible spaces sit in the closest sections of the Main Terminal lots, directly across Airport Drive from the terminal doors and near designated crosswalks. Standard airport parking rules apply: you still pull a ticket at the entrance gate and pay the regular daily or hourly rate listed on the McAllen Airport parking page, with no extra surcharges called out for ADA spaces.

For drivers with disabled plates or placards, the key benefit here is proximity to the Main Terminal check-in counters, which sit just inside the single public entrance on Wichita Avenue. Because MFE is a smaller airport with only one main commercial terminal, walking distances from the closest accessible spots to airline counters typically run just a few minutes on level pavement.

If you need extra time to help someone in or out of the vehicle near the curb, use the clearly posted loading zones in front of the Main Terminal for active loading only, then move the car into the accessible parking rows in the main lot. Local rules still prohibit leaving a vehicle unattended at the terminal curb for more than a few minutes, so keep the placard visible but do not treat the curb as long-term parking.

Practical tip: call the airport administration office listed on the McAllen Airport website at least 24 hours before your flight if you need wheelchair help from the parking lot to the airline counter; they can coordinate with your specific airline at the Main Terminal.
