Footlongs under 200 MXN in MEX T1

Subway in Terminal T1 sits airside in the main departures area and usually comes in cheaper than most sit-down spots. It’s a basic fix: standard sandwiches, a couple of salads, cookies, and fountain drinks. Expect classic subs like the Italian B.M.T. or tuna on white or wheat, plus the usual sauces. Portions track with street-side Subways in Mexico City, not the smaller “airport” size you sometimes see in the US.

Hours run roughly from the early morning bank of departures to late-night flights, often around 6:00 to 22:00, but it can close earlier on slow days. Prices hover in the budget range: a 15 cm sandwich often lands around 80–120 MXN, and a full 30 cm combo with drink and chips usually stays well under 200 MXN. That makes it one of the lowest-cost options in T1 if you actually want a full meal instead of just a pastry.

Operation is standard fast-food counter service, with your sandwich built to order in front of you. Lines spike around the common departure waves between 6:00–8:00 and 18:00–20:00, so plan 10–20 minutes from joining the queue to walking away with food. Seating is limited nearby, so many people just carry their subs back toward their gate in T1 and eat at the benches.

Order the daily special if it’s posted; that’s usually the best value combo in T1, especially if you need something filling before a long flight and don’t want to pay 250–300 MXN for a sit-down restaurant. Skip extra drinks if you’re price-sensitive, since bottled beverages can push your total close to what a hot meal costs elsewhere in the terminal.

Tip: If your gate in T1 is in the higher 20s or 30s, grab Subway on the way; backtracking from those gates can add a 10-minute walk during peak times.
