Big burgers in T1 when you’re done with tacos
At Mexico City International’s Terminal T1, Carl’s Jr fills the gap for travelers who want a US-style burger instead of another 80 MXN torta. It sits airside in T1, so you’re fine once you’re through security and looking for something familiar before a domestic or Aeroméxico Connect hop.
The menu sticks to the usual Carl’s Jr lineup: Famous Star, Double Western Bacon Cheeseburger, chicken sandwiches, and crisscut fries. Combo meals generally land in the 150–220 MXN range depending on burger size and add-ons. It’s fast-food predictable, which is exactly the appeal for people comparing it to yet another terminal taco stand.
Google Maps has it at a 2.7 rating, so set expectations: this is about speed, not gourmet. Food comes out in roughly 5–10 minutes when the line is short, and closer to 15–20 minutes in peak bank times around the 06:00–09:00 and 18:00–21:00 waves. If your boarding pass shows a 30-minute boarding window, order first and eat near your gate.
Portions skew large by local airport standards. A Double Western combo with a medium drink and fries is usually enough for one very hungry person or for two people who just want something to split before a 3–4 hour flight. If you’re watching sodium before a long-haul, skip the bacon-heavy builds and stick to a basic Famous Star or a plain chicken sandwich.
Tip: T1 can run low on seating near the food outlets, so if your gate is in the 20s or 30s, carry your tray to that pier and grab a seat by the windows before they fill up.
