Italianni's

T1 ★ 2.8

Gate-side apron views in T1 while you wait for pasta

Italianni's sits airside in Terminal T1 at Mexico City International Airport, one of the few full-service Italian chain spots in the terminal with a clear look at the apron and taxiing aircraft. If you’ve got a longer connection in T1 and want an actual sit-down meal instead of another rápido grab-and-go, this is where you park it. Rating hovers around 2.8, so set expectations to “serviceable chain,” not trattoria in Roma.

Menu runs through the usual suspects: pastas, pizzas, salads, and heavier mains, with most individual dishes landing in the mid‑priced range for MEX airport dining. Think classic spaghetti, chicken preparations, and shareable starters, with portions on the larger side, so two people can often split a pizza and an appetizer. You’re paying airport markup, but not at steakhouse levels, and the sit-down format makes more sense if you have at least 60–90 minutes before boarding from T1.

Drinks list hits the basics: house wine by the glass, standard Mexican beers, and simple cocktails. A glass of table wine usually comes in around mid‑double digits in MXN, and beer is in the same ballpark you’ll see at other T1 chain restaurants. If you’re watching the clock, factor in 10–15 minutes for drinks to arrive and 20–30 minutes for mains once ordered; build that into boarding time for T1 gates like 30–36 that can be a bit of a walk.

Service pace lines up with the 2.8 rating: not a disaster, but not fast, and English can be hit-or-miss compared with some other T1 spots. Staff is generally fine with card payments, but the terminal’s POS systems hiccup often enough that it’s smart to have a backup card or some cash in pesos. One practical tip: ask for the check the moment your main course lands if your T1 departure is in under an hour; it can easily take another 10–15 minutes to close out.
