Mimo's

$$$$

One of the only dessert-only spots in MDE T1

Mimo’s in Terminal T1 sits landside near check-in, so it works as a meet-up point or a sugar bribe before lining up for Avianca and LATAM counters. It’s the same Colombian chain you see around Medellín, with identical soft-serve, scooped ice cream, and basic desserts, just at airport prices. Figure on low spend: a cone or small cup usually runs in the US$2–3 range equivalent.

The stand focuses on ice cream and simple sweets: soft-serve in classic vanilla or mixed flavors, sundaes with chocolate or strawberry syrup, and a few pre-made cakes or frozen treats. Google reviewers repeatedly note that the flavors match in-city Mimo’s shops, so kids recognize their usual picks. Portions are modest but fine for a quick treat between check-in and the walk to security.

Open throughout the day in T1, Mimo’s hits peak lines in the late afternoon and evening departure waves, around the same time Medellín–Bogotá and US-bound flights board. Complaints on Google mention slow service when more than 5–6 people queue, so don’t count on a two-minute grab-and-go if your boarding pass says “last call” in 10 minutes. Late at night, a few reviewers report missing flavors, especially chocolate and popular mix-ins.

Regulars use Mimo’s as a walk-and-eat stop: they grab takeaway cones or cups and loop the terminal because seating around the stand is limited to a few stools and nearby public chairs. Families often swing by after hitting one of the fast-food counters in T1, turning it into a low-effort dessert run instead of trying to camp a whole group around the kiosk.

Practical tip: if you care about flavor choice, hit Mimo’s earlier in the day, before the evening rush and before stock thins out on the best-sellers.
