Near T1 central departures, Travel Essentials Shop fills the basics gap.
This is the grab-it-and-go spot in Muscat International Airport’s Terminal T1 when you realise at gate check that your charger is still at home. Expect standard travel gear: phone cables, universal adapters, power banks, neck pillows, eye masks, small padlocks, and carry-on sized umbrellas. Most items sit in the mid-range price band for a Gulf hub airport, not the cheapest in town but fine for last‑minute fixes before a long-haul out of MCT.
Being in T1 airside after security means you can duck in on the way from immigration to gates around the main pier. Stock usually covers common brands of USB-C and Lightning cables plus basic over-ear and in-ear headphones, so you’re not stuck silent on a 7-hour overnight. You’ll also find small toiletries: toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, and wet wipes sized correctly for 100 ml rules.
Forget souvenirs here; this is more function than gift shop, with racks dominated by practical items like travel pillows and basic RFID money belts. Snacks and drinks, if present, run to standard bottles and packaged sweets, not full-on grocery style. Figure 3–10 OMR for most tech accessories, a bit less for simple comfort add-ons like eye masks or earplugs.
Tip: if you need a specific cable or adapter type, check packaging carefully at the rack before you leave the shop; swapping it at 02:00 near a remote gate in T1 is a hassle you don’t want.
