Amouage

T1

Gate-side in T1, this is the home base of Amouage

Just past security in Terminal T1, Amouage is the flagship perfume stop for Muscat International Airport and the rare place to sample the brand in its home country. Shelves are stacked with the main lines like Interlude, Reflection, and Honour, plus newer releases you may not see in smaller duty free shops. Staff usually speak good English and Arabic and will spray testers freely if you ask.

Prices sit solidly in premium territory, often above mainstream designer scents but sometimes a touch lower than European boutiques once local taxes are factored in. You’ll see 50 ml and 100 ml bottles as standard, with occasional travel sets and gift boxes near the counter. Limited editions and Extrait strengths, if stocked, run noticeably higher, so check the label before you walk to the till.

The shop sits on the main T1 airside shopping strip, about a 3–5 minute walk from many international gates, so it’s realistic to swing by even on a 60–90 minute connection. Fragrance can linger, so if you’re sensitive, ask staff to spray on a card rather than your skin. Bottles are boxed and sealed for carry-on, which helps with cabin baggage checks at onward security points.

One practical move: snap a photo of the shelf price in OMR and convert it with your phone before buying, then compare against what you’d pay at home. If you like more than one scent, ask directly about any same-brand bundle or multi-bottle deals; they’re not always advertised on the shelves in T1.
