Food Court

T1

Gate area hunger in T1 usually lands you at the Food Court

The Food Court in Muscat T1 sits landside on the main departures level, so you can eat here before checking in or after arriving. It runs longer hours than most stand-alone cafés in the terminal, generally opening by early morning around the first bank of departures and staying open into late evening. Expect the usual mix of fast food, regional options, and coffee chains, all sharing a common seating area with basic tables and bright lighting.

Prices run mid-range for an airport in the Gulf: a basic burger or sandwich combo from one of the counters often hits 3–5 OMR, and coffee drinks usually land around 1–2 OMR. You pay at each vendor separately, so you can mix a main from one stall with a drink or dessert from another. Portions tend to be generous enough that one main can carry you through a 4–6 hour flight, especially on the heavier rice or grilled meat dishes.

Because this Food Court is landside in T1, it works best if you build in at least 60–90 minutes before your flight to eat here and then move through security and immigration. Seating can fill up around the late-night long-haul departures between 22:00 and 02:00, so finding a four-top table for a family of three or four might take a few minutes. Power outlets around the seating clusters are limited, so charge at the gates or near other T1 cafés if you need a full battery.

Alcohol is not part of the Food Court mix, but soft drinks, bottled water, and juice are easy to find at multiple counters, usually in 330–500 ml bottles. If you want more predictable timing, aim to order and sit down at least 45 minutes before you plan to head to security. Quick tip: check your airline’s check-in cutoff time, then schedule your meal at the Food Court at least 30 minutes before that window closes to avoid a rushed walk to the T1 counters.
