Gate-side in T1, Reggae Mart North is your last-minute grab spot
By the T1 North gates at Sangster International (MBJ), Reggae Mart North sits right in the main departures concourse, past security, so you can duck in after you clear passport control and before you line up at gates 1–8. It’s a compact shop, more convenience store than supermarket, and you walk it in under two minutes.
Hours usually track flight banks, with the shop opening for early departures around 6:00 a.m. and staying open into the late-evening outbound wave after 8:00 p.m. You’ll see standard airport pricing: think around US$2–3 for bottled water, US$3–5 for snacks, and tourist T‑shirts starting near US$15. Pay in Jamaican dollars or US cash, and most cards run fine here.
Stock leans heavily to souvenirs and travel basics. Expect Jamaica-branded magnets, shot glasses, keychains, and T‑shirts, plus small packs of Blue Mountain–label coffee, mini rum bottles under 200 ml, and boxed candy you can throw into a carry-on. There’s also sunscreen, small toiletries, and a few phone cables if you forgot a charger at your hotel in Montego Bay.
Food is strictly packaged: chips, nuts, cookies, and candy bars you can carry onto a 3–4 hour flight to the US or Canada. Don’t bank on fresh sandwiches or hot food here; if you want a real meal, hit a restaurant in T1 first and then swing by Reggae Mart North for water and snacks on the way to your gate.
Tip: stop here after security but before you sit at the gate; lines spike for 10–15 minutes right after big resort coaches drop passengers at check-in.
