Gate-side bar in T1 with strong pours
Ten minutes from most T1 gates, Liquid Spirit sits airside at Sangster (MBJ) and runs in typical daytime hours to match departing flights. It’s a standard airport bar setup: counter seating, a few small tables, and TVs running sports or news. You’re here for a last Jamaican drink before boarding, not a long session.
Rum drinks dominate the menu, with local labels pushed hard and cocktail prices usually landing in the USD $10–$15 range depending on pour and mixer. Expect the usual suspects: rum punch, daiquiris, and simple highballs. Beer is mostly macro Caribbean brands with a couple of imports sitting in the same price band.
Food is secondary at Liquid Spirit and comes bar-style: basic snacks and light bites that work if you skipped something landside but won’t replace a proper meal in Montego Bay. Figure on paying around USD $8–$12 for anything more substantial than chips or nuts, and expect it to arrive on the slower side when the bar is full.
Service speed tracks the outbound bank of flights in T1, so the 10:00–14:00 window can mean a wait of 10–20 minutes for mixed drinks. Staff keep things moving, but large tour groups can swallow the remaining bar stools in one shot. Card payments in USD or JMD are fine, and tipping in either currency is normal.
One tip: if your gate is at the far end of T1, pay your tab and walk down with your drink in hand; you’ll beat the crowd that tries to close out all at once when boarding starts.
