Jamdown

Gate-side at T1, Jamdown is one of the last Jamaican stops before you board

Jamdown sits post-security in Terminal T1 at Sangster International Airport, so you hit it after immigration and duty free, not before. It focuses on quick-service Jamaican fare, geared to people already through security and watching the boarding screens. You’ll see it alongside other souvenir and snack spots, within a 5–7 minute walk of most T1 gates.

Think patties, grab-and-go snacks, and packaged Jamaican products rather than a full restaurant with table service. You’re looking at airport pricing, so budget a few extra US dollars over what you’d pay in town. It works as a last-minute stop for something local before a 3–4 hour flight back to North America.

Expect standard airport hours that generally track the outbound bank of flights, with Jamdown open from the early morning departures through the late-afternoon crowd. If you have a 6:00 a.m. flight out of MBJ, it may not be fully stocked yet, while mid-morning to early afternoon tends to have better product on the shelves.

Because there’s little public detail on specific menu items or standout dishes, treat Jamdown as a backup plan, not your main meal. If you want a proper plate of jerk chicken or fish before leaving Montego Bay, eat in town or at your hotel, then use Jamdown in T1 as a top-up snack or souvenir food stop.

Tip: Hit Jamdown after you confirm your gate in T1, not before; you’ll avoid walking extra minutes if your flight boards from the far end of the terminal.
