Harmony

By Gate 8 in T1, Harmony is your last-minute grab

Harmony sits airside in Terminal 1 near Gate 8 at MBJ, right in the main international departures stretch. It focuses on Jamaican-themed souvenirs and small travel needs, so think gifts on the way home rather than full duty-free. You walk past it on the standard path toward gates 5–10, so there’s no detour required if your boarding pass shows one of those gates.

Most souvenir items here land in the US$10–$40 range, from logo T‑shirts and caps to beach bags and keychains. You’ll see Jamaica-branded mugs, magnets, and simple home décor pieces mixed with a few snack items and basic toiletries. Prices lean airport-high, but not wildly more than other shops in MBJ’s T1 duty-paid zone.

Hours usually track outbound bank times, roughly from the first big wave around 6:00 a.m. through the evening departures to North America and Europe. If you have an early morning flight before 7:00 a.m., expect the shutters to open closer to your boarding time than check‑in time. Late-night irregular operations after 10:00 p.m. can find it closed, so don’t bank on a last-second shop if your flight is delayed past the standard evening bank.

Stock runs from small 50 ml travel toiletries to mid-size beach totes that still fit in an overhead bin. You won’t find electronics beyond basic phone accessories like generic USB cables and simple wired earphones. If you want premium rum or cigarettes, those sit in the proper duty‑free store further along T1, not at Harmony.

Tip: If your gate is under 5, swing by Harmony first as you leave the central food court area; walking back from the low-number gates can eat 8–10 minutes in peak crowds.
