Urban Grill

T4

Gate-side grill in T4 when you want a sit-down meal

Urban Grill sits in Madrid–Barajas T4, past security and close to several Schengen gates, so it works for most Iberia and oneworld departures from the main terminal. It runs standard daytime airport hours, roughly breakfast through late evening, catching the morning bank of departures and the late Iberia flights back to Spain.

Menu is simple: burgers, chicken, steaks, sandwiches, salads, and a few bar snacks, all at typical Madrid airport pricing, around €12–€20 for mains. Expect standard grill plates rather than anything regional or tapas-focused. Portion sizes come in larger than what you’ll see in many other T4 cafés, which helps if you’re skipping the onboard buy-on-board sandwiches.

There’s a full bar with beer, wine, and basic mixed drinks, and draft cerveza usually lands around €4–€6 a glass. Coffee is machine-based but drinkable, and they do espresso and cortado, so you can use it as a last caffeine stop if the line at the nearby coffee chains around T4’s central plaza is too long.

Service speed shifts with the departure banks: at peak morning and early evening waves, mains can take 20–30 minutes from order, and bills sometimes lag another 10 minutes. Figure you need a 60-minute buffer between sitting down and boarding time if you’re at a nearby T4 gate; add more if you’re walking out to the far F-gates.

Seating is standard tables and chairs, with power outlets scattered along the edges of the dining area, useful if your gate in the mid-80s has limited charging options. Restrooms sit a short walk away along the main T4 concourse, shared with other food outlets, so factor in a few extra minutes before boarding.

Practical tip: check your gate before sitting; if you’re assigned a remote stand bus gate at T4, aim to ask for the check as soon as your food arrives and keep an eye on the departure boards every 10 minutes.
