Gate-side caffeine fix in MAD’s T4
This Starbucks sits in Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Terminal T4, so you don’t need the extra shuttle to T4S to get a latte before boarding. It works well as a backup when the smaller Spanish cafés are slammed and you just want something predictable with a name on the cup.
Expect the standard Starbucks drinks lineup: tall cappuccinos and lattes start around the €3–€4 mark, with larger sizes and extras (soy, oat, extra shot) pushing you closer to €5–€6. You’ll also find the usual cold brew, Frappuccinos, and seasonal specials, which are a relief on summer days when Madrid is hitting 35°C outside and T4 feels dry from the air-con.
Food is basic but serviceable: sandwiches, muffins, cookies, and packaged snacks, all grab-and-go. Prices run higher than downtown Madrid, with a simple sandwich sitting near €6 and pastries in the €2–€3 range. It’s enough for a light breakfast ahead of a 07:00 departure or a late-day snack between an Iberia Schengen hop and an evening long-haul.
Lines here spike at classic bank times: roughly 06:00–09:00 and again around 17:00–20:00, when T4’s wave of European departures pushes everyone toward coffee at once. Staff typically move through orders quickly, but a queue of 10–15 people can still cost you 10–15 minutes, especially if multiple Frappuccinos are in the blender.
There’s limited seating immediately around the counter, so plan on taking your drink back toward your exact T4 gate if your flight leaves within 45 minutes. Power outlets can be hit-or-miss in this part of the terminal, so charge devices near your gate first, then come here for caffeine. Tip: mobile-order features are inconsistent by country, so assume you’ll order at the till and factor in that extra time before boarding starts T-30.
