Gate-side in T4, Mahou Madrid keeps it simple: beer and bites
Mahou Madrid sits airside in Terminal T4, right in the main departures area, so you see it as soon as you clear security and head toward the Schengen gates. It runs through most of the day in line with T4’s early departures, typically opening before 7:00 and staying active into late evening bank waves. Think bar-first setup with food added on, not a full restaurant that happens to pour beer.
As the name says, this is Mahou territory: you get Madrid’s flagship lager on tap in cañas and larger pours, usually priced in the €3–€6 range depending on size. Expect the usual Spanish airport markup, but not as brutal as some T4 coffee bars. If you just want something cold before a 2–3 hour hop around Europe, this is the most straightforward pour in the terminal.
Food skews typical Spanish bar snacks: sandwiches, small raciones, and chips to go with the beer. A simple jamón or mixed sandwich often lands around €6–€9, and portions stay on the lighter side compared with central Madrid. Treat it as a quick bite before a short-haul flight from T4, not your one big meal for a 10-hour long-haul out of T4S.
Seating mostly faces the concourse in T4’s open-plan hall, so you keep an eye on screens for gates H, J, or K while you eat. Turnover is fast during the 07:00–10:00 and 17:00–20:00 peaks, and tables can vanish quickly when multiple Iberia and oneworld departures stack up. If your boarding pass shows a remote bus gate from T4, add 10–15 minutes to whatever time you think you need to get there.
Tip: if your flight leaves from T4S, finish here at least 40 minutes before boarding to leave time for the train ride and passport control downstairs from the main T4 building.
