Cibeles Lounge

T1 · between B26 and B29

Late-morning Cibeles runs out of seats fast in T1 B-gates

This is the main non-Schengen contract lounge in T1, sitting airside between gates B26 and B29 after passport control, and it pulls in most Priority Pass traffic for that pier. When 3–4 long-haul flights leave before noon, reviews report people circling for seats and noise levels matching the gate area.

Access is after T1 passport control: follow the “Sala VIP” signs, then take the escalator or lift up to the 2nd floor. The lounge door sits directly opposite the top of the escalator, so you can see how crowded it is before committing to check-in with your Priority Pass or contract invite.

Hours vary with the T1 non-Schengen schedule but typically cover the late-morning and afternoon departure banks, roughly aligning with the B-gate long-haul and mid-haul flights. If your flight leaves from gates B26–B29, walking time is under 3 minutes; from the furthest B-gates, give it 8–10 minutes back to boarding.

Food runs better than the usual MAD T1 snack stand: expect basic hot items at peak times, cold cuts, bread, and packaged snacks you can turn into a light meal before an economy long-haul. Drinks usually include self-serve soft drinks, basic spirits, beer, and wine; nothing premium, but a step up from buying a €3 water bottle in the concourse.

Regulars on FlyerTalk call out the multiple seating zones with power outlets at many chairs as the main reason to come here. If you need to work for 60–90 minutes, this beats most B-gate seats, where plugs are scarce and often already taken by people camped on the floor.

The main complaint: crowding, especially before noon when just three or four T1 non-Schengen flights can fill most chairs. Expect people standing with plates and families spreading across several seats; if that looks worse than the gate, don’t be afraid to bail and grab a coffee downstairs instead.

One practical move: if your Priority Pass gets you in, aim to arrive either a full hour before the late-morning rush or wait until about 30 minutes after your gate goes on screens; that’s when the first wave heads out and you’re more likely to find a powered seat and some hot food left.
