American Express Lounge by Pont

T4

T4’s American Express Lounge by Pont barely shows up in reviews

Most MAD lounge chatter is about Iberia or the big VIP rooms, but this American Express Lounge by Pont in Terminal T4 quietly serves cardholders flying out of the Schengen gates. It sits airside in T4, past security, so you don’t need to shuttle to T4S on the train for a quick stop.

Access runs through American Express credentials plus the Pont arrangement, and the same space also appears on the Priority Pass list for Madrid–Barajas. That means T4 Amex, Priority Pass, and some bank packages all feed into the same door, unlike Iberia’s split lounges down by the H gates.

Opening hours on Priority Pass typically show early-morning to late-evening coverage, aligning with the first wave of 06:00–07:00 departures out of T4 and stretching toward the late‑night bank. Always check the current day’s schedule in your Amex or lounge app, because hours shift slightly with seasonal traffic.

The lounge follows the standard European business-lounge template: self-service cold snacks, simple hot dishes, and a bar area with beer, wine, and basic spirits included in the entry fee. You won’t see a full restaurant menu with made‑to‑order plates like you might in Iberia’s flagship in T4S, so plan on a light meal rather than a full dinner.

Seating mixes small dining tables with armchairs, and power outlets usually sit between pairs of chairs or along walls near the windows. Compared with some of T4’s open gate areas near gates J40–J50, the lounge gives you a better shot at finding a socket to charge a laptop before a 3–4 hour intra‑Europe leg.

Since detailed food photos and walk‑throughs are hard to find, assume a standard mix of sandwiches, pastries, and at least one hot option like pasta or rice. If you need specific dietary coverage, backstop with something from the main T4 food court level before you ride the escalator down to your J or K gate.

Final tip: if your flight departs from T4S (gates S), skip this lounge and take the train directly, then use a T4S option instead; the shuttle to T4S plus boarding-time buffers can easily eat 25–30 minutes each way.
