Gate-side books and tech at Terminal 1

Just past security in Terminal 1, FNAC is the main stop for French books, magazines, and last‑minute electronics before your flight from Lyon Saint‑Exupéry. You’ll see it on the airside concourse used by carriers like Air France Hop and easyJet, so you don’t need to backtrack or cross into Terminal 2.

Opening hours track the Terminal 1 schedule, with FNAC generally open from early morning departures around 06:00 until the last evening banks near 21:00–22:00, though exact times shift with the season. Figure 10–15 minutes for a quick browse and purchase if your gate is nearby; add a few extra minutes if you’re departing from the far end of the concourse.

Pricing follows standard French high‑street FNAC levels: paperbacks often around €8–€12, travel adapters in the €15–€25 range, and basic headphones starting near €10. You’ll also find SD cards, charging cables, and small Bluetooth speakers, which can save a trip into Lyon city if something broke on the way to the airport.

Selection leans heavily French, but there are usually a few English‑language bestsellers and international magazines in Terminal 1’s FNAC rack. Kids’ books and small toys sit near the front, useful if you’re boarding a family‑heavy easyJet or Transavia flight. Staff typically speak at least some English, so asking for an English novel or a USB‑C cable isn’t a struggle.

Tip: if you want reading material for a Schengen flight from Terminal 1, stop at FNAC right after security; some remote gates have only vending machines and basic snack stands.
