Gate-side in T1, this is the last-stop basics shop

Right in Terminal 1 at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport, Travel Essentials Store is the quick grab spot for chargers, neck pillows, earphones, and basic toiletries before you head to security and gates 1–5. It’s a small, functional shop, more about getting you out of a bind than browsing souvenirs. Expect airport pricing, but not the eye-watering kind you see in bigger hubs.

Stock leans heavily toward actual travel gear: universal adapters, USB cables, power banks, padlocks, sleep masks, and a few travel-sized health items. You’ll also see a small rack of snacks and bottled drinks, handy if the main food outlets in T1 are packed around peak departures in the early afternoon. Don’t come here for serious gift shopping; think last-minute practicality instead.

Most items sit in the 80–250 ZMW range, with small accessories (toothpaste, lip balm, tissues) under 60 ZMW. Power banks and brand-name headphones push higher, so compare prices in your head to home before you commit. Staff usually ring you up in under five minutes, even when two or three passengers are ahead of you in line.

One useful trick: if your bag is slightly overweight at check-in in T1, you can pick up a cheap tote here and shift heavier items to carry-on. Also, check packaging labels on electronics to confirm plug type and voltage; not everything on the shelf is EU/UK compatible, and you do not want to find that out at your hotel at 23:00.
