Lounge One

1 Open · 24/7 ★ 4.5 2k sqft 50 seats showers Day pass $30

$30 day-pass pricing is the only concrete detail for Lounge One.

Everything else about “Lounge One” at Lusaka’s Kenneth Kaunda International Airport Terminal 1 is fuzzy. Lounge lists put it post‑security in T1 with 24/7 hours and a 4.5 rating, but regulars on FlyerTalk mostly talk about a single tired contract lounge in the old terminal and the newer Pearl Lounge in Terminal 2 instead.

The published access rules say Priority Pass and paid entry at around $30 get you in, with doors apparently open 24 hours a day. That clashes with on-the-ground chatter, which focuses on only one dated business lounge in T1 that often closes around the last evening departures, plus Pearl Lounge in T2, which serves Qatar and other carriers after about 18:00.

Terminal 1 at LUN mainly handles regional traffic, and many flights depart in the 06:00–09:00 and 14:00–20:00 banks. If Lounge One exists as listed, that 24/7 schedule would help on the late Emirates and early morning South African or Airlink rotations, but most frequent flyers writing in 2023–2024 don’t mention any lounge by this name at all.

The 4.5 average rating tied to Lounge One looks optimistic compared with comments on the “only lounge in the old terminal,” where people complain about limited hot food and patchy cleaning. If Lounge One is just a rebrand of that space, expect basic snacks and soft drinks at most; if it’s something different, nobody active on FlyerTalk in 2024 is talking about it yet.

On access, Priority Pass typically allows a 3‑hour stay, and a $30 walk-up fee in Lusaka is high against local café prices in T1, where a coffee runs closer to $2–3 and simple hot dishes sit in the $8–12 range. With that gap, paying cash at the door only makes sense if you confirm real food, good seating, and working Wi‑Fi before handing over your card.

If you fly out of Terminal 2, note that Pearl Lounge is explicitly named in airline emails and on some boarding passes, whereas “Lounge One” never appears. That mismatch, plus the lack of specific photos or reviews tied to the Lounge One name at LUN, suggests some databases are recycling outdated or incorrect lounge data.

Practical tip: before budgeting $30 for Lounge One, ask check‑in staff in T1 what lounge is actually open, what it’s called on their system, and whether your Priority Pass card is accepted there that day.
