Terminal B

3 airlines

Terminal B hosts 3 airlines.

Gate B1 often handles Lufthansa and other Schengen flights

Terminal B at Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport is the smaller of the two concourses, mainly handling Air France, LOT Polish Airlines, and Lufthansa departures on the Schengen side. The terminal sits directly beside Terminal A, and walking from one to the other takes about 2–3 minutes inside the main building. Check-in desks for these three carriers line up in the same shared hall, so follow the airline logos above the counters rather than hunting for a separate Terminal B entrance.

Security for Terminal B sits just past the central check-in hall, and queues here usually move quickly due to the airport’s lower traffic compared with hubs like FRA or CDG. Plan around 20–30 minutes from check-in to your B-gate in normal times, and add another 10 minutes if you hit a bank of early morning departures around 06:00–08:00. Once you clear security, a single corridor feeds directly to the B-gates, so you won’t face any split concourses or trains.

Gate signage for Air France, LOT, and Lufthansa flights appears on the main departure screens near security and again on monitors above each B-gate. Typical boarding starts about 30–40 minutes before departure for European flights operated by these airlines. If you have a tight connection from a non-Schengen arrival in Terminal A, factor in 10–15 minutes for walking and passport control before you reach the B-gates.

Terminal B currently shows no dedicated landside restaurants or branded cafés in public listings, so plan to eat in Ljubljana city or bring something from outside the airport before heading through security. A basic kiosk or vending setup may appear near the gates, but don’t count on a hot meal once you’re in the B concourse. For early morning flights with Air France or Lufthansa, consider grabbing food at your hotel before a 04:30–05:00 airport arrival.

Lounge options specific to Terminal B are not published, and recent reports list no airline-branded lounges for Air France, LOT, or Lufthansa in this section. If you hold SkyTeam, Star Alliance, or Priority Pass access, check at information near the main check-in hall to see if any shared lounge in Terminal A accepts your card on the day. In most cases, plan as if you’ll spend your pre-flight time in regular seating at the B-gates.

Duty-free and retail for Terminal B passengers largely sits in the shared post-security area, but individual shop names tied specifically to B were not documented in current guides. Expect at least a small duty-free outlet with standard alcohol and tobacco near the main departure zone that feeds both A and B, then a quieter gate area with limited extra shopping. Pick up any last-minute items right after security rather than waiting until you reach a specific B-gate.

One practical tip: aim to arrive at the airport 90 minutes before a Schengen departure on Air France, LOT, or Lufthansa, and finish any food, shopping, or lounge questions in the shared check-in and post-security zone before walking down the corridor to the B-gates.
