The building is compact, with short walks from security to the gates, and typical walking time from the main entrance to the furthest A-gate sits under 8 minutes.

Security for Terminal A sits just past the main departures hall check-in area, with the A check-in counters grouped in one zone on the ground floor. Check-in for easyJet, Transavia, and Turkish Airlines usually opens about 2 hours before departure for European flights, and lines can spike in the first wave of morning departures between 05:00 and 07:30.

Post-security in Terminal A is simple: a single concourse feeds the A-gates, with no documented dedicated restaurants, branded shops, or airline lounges listed for this pier. Duty free and basic grab-and-go options typically cluster near the split between A and B gates, so plan on a 3–5 minute walk back and forth if you want to pick up snacks after you’ve found your A-gate.

Turkish Airlines flights from Ljubljana usually operate from Terminal A as well, but you won’t find a Turkish-branded lounge or Star Alliance lounge advertised here. If you rely heavily on lounge access at other airports, assume none at Terminal A and pick up drinks or food in town or at your hotel before the roughly 26 km drive to the airport from central Ljubljana.

Public transport and drop-off for Terminal A share the same forecourt used by Terminal B, and the walk from the bus stop or taxi stand to the A check-in counters is about 2–3 minutes under cover. With no catalogued restaurants or shops inside Terminal A, this is the point where you might want to grab a last coffee or snack from any landside kiosk you spot before heading into security.

One practical tip: build a 20–30 minute buffer beyond your airline’s check-in cutoff at Terminal A, because the compact layout means there are fewer backup options if a single security lane slows down and you still have a 5–8 minute walk to a distant A-gate.
