Gate 17 is your marker for the VIP Club at LIM
After security in Terminal 1, walk past Gate 17, then turn left and go about 20 meters down the side corridor to hit the VIP Club entrance. This is the 24-hour international concourse lounge that many Lima regulars now keep as a backup plan when The Club or Sumaq are on a waitlist or packed out.
The VIP Club sits airside in the international zone near Gate 17, so you’re already through immigration and security before you reach it. Doors stay open 24 hours a day, which makes this one of the few places at LIM where you can sit down with power and Wi‑Fi at 02:30 before a red‑eye to JFK or 05:50 to GRU.
This is an independent international lounge rather than an airline-branded space, so check your card benefits: historically it has appeared on Priority Pass and similar programs. Seating skews more business center than living room, with desk-style spots that work fine for pulling out a 14-inch laptop and catching up on email before a 7:00 departure.
Food and drink run basic compared with Sumaq: think simple buffet items, snacks, and self-serve soft drinks, with alcohol usually limited to a short rail selection instead of anything top-shelf. If you care more about a plate of hot food before a 6-hour leg to MEX, you may want to walk past here first to check The Club; if it’s full, the VIP Club still beats camping at a public power pole.
The “Business Center” legacy shows up in the layout, with workstations, tables, and enough standard power outlets to keep phones and laptops charged through a long connection. Wi‑Fi typically runs faster than the public terminal network, useful if you need to upload a 200 MB batch of files or sync a big cloud folder before boarding.
One practical tip: when you clear security for international departures, follow signs toward Gate 17 and peek at the crowd level through the VIP Club door before committing. If every seat you see from the threshold is taken, keep walking a few more minutes to compare Sumaq or The Club, then loop back here only if those lounges are on hard wait.
