Tiare Enterprise sells fresh lei from 6:00 a.m. daily

Near the main departures area at Lihue Airport, Tiare Enterprise Flower Shop keeps fresh lei and loose tropical stems going from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. every day. It’s one of the few spots in LIH where you can still grab a real flower lei minutes before boarding. Expect premade orchid, plumeria, and mixed-flower options on racks, plus simple bouquets in the cooler.

Pricing usually runs in the $15–$40 range depending on how elaborate the lei or bouquet is, with basic single-strand orchid lei at the low end and fuller, more layered styles at the top. Everything is post-security, so you can pick something up after TSA and not babysit it in the check-in line. Staff turns stock frequently, so flowers generally look fresh rather than wilted from sitting all day.

Selection is better in the morning, especially right after the 6:00–8:00 a.m. departure bank, when new stock is often out. Evening shoppers closer to the 10:00 p.m. closing time may find fewer color choices, but there’s usually at least a basic orchid lei available. If you’re sensitive to fragrance, look for plainer orchid styles instead of heavily scented plumeria or tuberose.

One last tip: ask for a plastic sleeve and a little extra moisture if you have a longer flight; it helps the lei survive the 5+ hour haul back to the mainland without looking tired on arrival.
