Gate-side basics from 6:00 a.m. at News Stand

Open daily from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., News Stand covers the early island departures and the late mainland flights. It’s a straightforward travel-essentials shop: snacks, bottled drinks, grab-and-go candy, a few phone chargers, headphones, and last‑minute toiletries. Expect standard airport pricing, not a bargain stop, but cheaper than buying on the plane.

This is the place to grab travel-size sunscreen, lip balm, or after-sun lotion if you burned at Poipu and still have a flight ahead. You’ll also see neck pillows, basic eye masks, and simple locks for checked bags. Stock swings a bit during the day, so the 6:00–9:00 a.m. window usually has the best shelf variety before departures clear it out.

Printed reading material runs to national magazines and a few Hawaii-focused titles, plus crossword and sudoku books for longer flights over 5 hours. There’s a small fridge with water, juice, and soft drinks; prices run roughly a dollar or two higher than off-airport shops. Solid spot for sealed snacks if you want to skip the in‑flight menu.

Final pass before security calls your group: grab one extra bottle of water and a small snack here, so you don’t have to play the cart lottery after boarding. If you need anything basic for the flight and don’t want to hunt the terminal, this is usually the quickest stop.
