Single-ticket RailAir coaches link Heathrow to Reading and beyond

RailAir runs dedicated coach routes between London Heathrow (T2, T3, T4 and T5) and rail hubs such as Reading, Woking and Guildford, so you can buy one through-ticket from your origin station straight to the airport. Coaches pull into clearly signed RailAir bays at each terminal’s central bus station (T2/T3) or outside arrivals (T4/T5), making the transfer a simple walk with bags.

At Heathrow, RailAir stops at the Central Bus Station serving T2 and T3, plus separate stops at T4 and T5, all on the public side before security. You can step off a RailAir coach at T2/T3 Central Bus Station and be at check-in in under 10 minutes on foot. The Reading and Woking terminals have indoor waiting areas with ticket machines and real-time departure boards tied to National Rail services.

Tickets are sold as through-fares by many UK train operators, so RailAir appears as a “+Coach” leg when you buy a rail ticket from stations like Oxford, Swindon or Basingstoke to Heathrow. You can also pay the coach fare on its own via the RailAir website, app, or on board with contactless cards and UK-issued Oyster-style payment, with prices usually cheaper in advance than walk-up. Kids often ride at a reduced child fare, which cuts the cost for families connecting from Reading or Woking.

Coaches are full-size vehicles with luggage bays underneath, so your suitcase goes in the hold and only hand baggage comes upstairs. Every RailAir coach has air conditioning and individual seats, and most vehicles now carry free Wi‑Fi and USB or power sockets at the seats, a noticeable upgrade from standard local buses. Drivers load baggage at the curb at Reading, Woking, Guildford and Heathrow, so factor in a couple of extra minutes at each stop for bags to come off.

RailAir is best for travelers connecting from the west or southwest of England using Great Western Railway or South Western Railway, rather than coming into central London. If your flight lands at T5 but your RailAir ticket says T2/T3 Central Bus Station, you can still ride the free Heathrow Express or Elizabeth line shuttle between T5 and T2/T3 in under 6 minutes. Build a 30‑minute margin between rail arrival at Reading or Woking and your coach time at busy peaks like Friday evenings.

Practical tip: When you book a rail ticket to “Heathrow RailAir” or “Heathrow Bus” from your home station, print or download the full itinerary with coach leg included so you can show both the rail and coach segments quickly to the RailAir driver at T2/T3 Central Bus Station, T4 or T5.
