T2’s main World Duty Free sits just past central security in the departure lounge.
You hit it about 3–4 minutes after clearing security in Terminal 2, before the gates split for A and B. Layout is classic walkthrough: fragrance and liquor first, then cosmetics, then chocolate and souvenirs toward the back. It’s airside only, so this is for departing passengers from T2 (Star Alliance, a few others), not arrivals.
Liquor pricing is usually better than UK high-street, especially on 1L bottles of whisky and gin, and they often run 2-for deals on mid-range brands. Tobacco sits in a dedicated section with clear allowances signage for EU vs non‑EU destinations. If you want single malts or niche gins, T5 generally has more range, but T2 still covers the big names.
Cosmetics and skincare lines skew mainstream: Estée Lauder, Clinique, MAC, Lancôme, Dior and similar. Travel sets and minis sit near the tills, and staff often push bundle promos that can be good value if you already buy that brand. Expect standard UK duty free pricing, not rock-bottom outlet levels, and watch for “travel exclusive” sizes that aren’t always cheaper per ml.
Food and gifts mean Toblerone slabs, Cadbury, shortbread tins, and Heathrow-branded mugs and bears. There’s usually a 3-for promotion on chocolate bags and boxes, handy if you need quick gifts for a family of four or a small team at the office. Queues spike around early morning long-haul banks, so add 10 minutes at busy times.
Tip: If you’re short on time, skip the centre aisles and cut down the right-hand side to reach the main tills fastest.
